Dextel is based in Spearwood and works across the Perth metropolitan area. Here is what travel costs, how soon you will hear back, and what happens when we come out.
Where We Work
That is the whole metropolitan area, not a shortlist of suburbs, and it is the same area set on our Google profile. Spearwood is home, so the southern suburbs are closest, but they are not the limit.
Every service on this site is available across it: licensed electrical work (switchboard upgrades, EV chargers, LED lighting, smoke alarms, fault finding) and Ajax alarm and CCTV installation, for homes and businesses alike.
Before You Call
If it is in the Perth metropolitan area, yes. We do not keep a shortlist of favoured suburbs, and being a long way from Spearwood does not rule you out. If you are on the edge of the metro area and not sure, call and ask rather than guess.
For an installation, no. We will travel anywhere in the Perth metro area for an alarm, CCTV or electrical install, and the travel is built into the quote. A small service call a long way from Spearwood is a different matter, because a half hour job cannot carry an hour of driving each way. Tell us where you are when you call and we will be upfront about it before anyone books a time.
You will hear back the same day by call, text or email. We do not promise a same-day visit, because the honest answer depends on what is already booked, and a promise we cannot keep is worth nothing. When we call back you will get a real time, not a window with nothing behind it.
Both. Homes, shops, offices and small commercial sites all get the same licensed work. Some security firms take commercial jobs only, so it is worth saying plainly that a single camera at a house is as welcome as a full site.
We find the fault, tell you what is wrong, and price any repair that goes beyond the diagnosis before carrying it out. Service jobs are charged at our standard service rate rather than quoted at a fixed price, because the time a fault takes to find cannot be known beforehand. We confirm the rate with you before we attend.
Free for installs, with no obligation. A wireless Ajax system can usually be quoted from your photos and a description without anyone visiting. Wired systems, alarm upgrades and most camera jobs get a site visit first, because guessing at cable runs helps nobody. Most electrical work is the same. A switchboard upgrade depends on the condition of the board and whether there is any room left in it, a larger lighting install depends on the ceiling and what is above it, shed and workshop wiring needs the sub-main sized for the distance rather than the load alone, and an EV charger comes down to what the supply and switchboard can carry with everything else in the house running.
Call and ask. If you are outside the area we will say so on the phone rather than waste your time.
