This Spearwood client needed a camera with high-detail night footage and active deterrence, to protect a work car and the tools kept inside it.

The problem: no free port on the NVR

The property already had a Dahua system: a 4-channel NVR with four cameras. Every channel was taken, so there was nowhere to plug in a fifth camera.

The solution: a camera that records on its own

Rather than replace the NVR, I installed a Dahua TiOC 3 Pro (IPC-HDW3649H-AS-PV-PRO-ANZ) as a standalone camera:

Why the TiOC 3 Pro for this spot

The job called for detail at night and a camera that does something when someone approaches. The TiOC 3 Pro has a large 1/1.8-inch sensor for low-light footage, and its active deterrence adds a siren with red and blue lights. More on the sensor in why sensor size matters more than megapixels.

The result

The work car and tools now have a dedicated camera with night detail and active deterrence, and the existing four-camera system stayed exactly as it was. The whole job took about two hours.

NVR full at your place?

A full NVR does not always mean buying a new recorder. Depending on the camera and what it needs to cover, a standalone camera with its own storage can be the simpler answer. I will look at your setup and tell you which way makes sense. See CCTV installation or the Dahua cameras and recorders page.
