This Beeliar home got a full security system in one job: an Ajax alarm and a six-camera Dahua CCTV system.

The alarm, including the garage door

The alarm is built around an Ajax Hub 2 Plus. Three motion detectors and two door sensors cover the house. The garage door is protected too, with a DoorProtect and a garage door reed switch, so the alarm knows if it is opened.

The cameras

The CCTV is six Dahua IPC-HDW3667EM-S-IL-ANZ cameras (6MP Smart Dual Light) on an 8-channel Dahua NVR.

Why two cameras back to back

Two of the cameras share one mount under the alfresco, facing opposite ways. That corner of the house is at the rear of the property, so from one point the pair covers two different angles: the side of the property and the rear.

The result

One system covering the doors, the rooms and the garage door, six cameras, and a siren inside and out. Two days on site: about three hours on the alarm and nine on the cameras.

Want the garage covered too?

A garage door is easy to forget when planning an alarm. If you are planning one, include it from the start. See Ajax alarm systems for published package and device prices, or CCTV installation for camera packages. The Armadale write-up covers a similar alarm and camera combination, and what a camera needs to see at night explains what to look for in a camera. Where the cameras go is covered in where to put CCTV cameras on a house, and why I pair these two brands in Ajax alarm with Dahua cameras.
